New for 2013...

MAY RELEASES:

COCOROSIE

* ALBUM - TALES OF A GRASSWIDOW - CITY SLANG*
http://www.cocorosiemusic.com

CocoRosie is the potently poetic music-based project of American cross-disciplinary performance artists Sierra and Bianca Casady. It's been three years since the controversial yet highly praised Grey Oceans and now they return with their fifth collection of evocative skewed pop songs in Tales Of A Grasswidow.

They sing eye-opening accounts of unsayable things, yet their music ultimately celebrates a spiritual freedom attainable in the purely natural world. Along the way they tackle taboo topics such as child abuse in a reflective, intimate and ultimately artistic way, shedding light on the corners of human nature where other artists fear to tread.

"The Casadys' knack for sifting vivid dreamy songs out of harrowing subject matter is no less potent here" Q ****

"Tales Of A Grasswidow is a step on, with stronger ideas, more concise beats and a more tranquil atmosphere" MOJO

"Striking a neat balance of darkly powerful and whimsical" UNCUT

JUNE RELEASES:

RALFE BAND

* ALBUM - SON BE WISE - HIGHLINE RECORDS *
http://www.ralfeband.com/

English songwriter Oly Ralfe's life of wanderlust lived through Iceland, Mexico, America and between his life in England and Berlin has formed the inspiration for Ralfe Band's latest record Son Be Wise, “I’ve been a nomad these last few years, writing my songs on the move. I find different locations make me feel alive and conjure up ideas.” reflects Oly.

Recorded in deepest darkest Wales, South London and rural Oxfordshire the album has taken Oly down a previously untraveled path in relation to his songwriting, incorporating intertwining male and female vocals with the help of Alessi Laurent-Marke of Alessi's Ark and Piney Gir and drawing influence out of everything from Emily Bronte poems to Jorge Luis Borge's Labyrinths.

"Beautiful, angular music that envelops your body like an erotic triffid.  Charismatic, magical and eccentric in the best possible way" NOEL FIELDING in NME

LOWB

* ALBUM - LEAP AND THE NET WILL APPEAR - DISTILLER RECORDS *
http://lowb.co.uk/

Influential producer Andy Barlow is well known for his trip hop escapades in Lamb which he co-founded with singer Lou Rhodes. Now he's set to release his debut solo album, Leap And The Net Will Appear in May 2013 under the moniker LOWB with a breadth to match it's depth - deeply reflective one moment, danceable the next.

With contemporary twists on the trip-hop sound, whilst echoing classic British electronic music, Lowb's debut is set to be intelligent, sophisticated and refined. Leap And The Net Will Appear is released on Distiller Records.

LANDSHAPES

* ALBUM - RAMBUTAN - BELLA UNION *
http://lowb.co.uk/

Having undergone a music metamorphosis, Landshapes unorthodox songwriting process - built on accidents and reworking obsessively - has spawned a resplendent opening salvo filled with mournful melodies and mind-encompassing ethereal pop sounds on their debut album entitled Rambutan, named not after the exotic fruit but "for the sound the word makes". Produced by Ash Workman, it is a distillation of songs old and new, re-worked and fine tuned with deft precision. The London based quartet will launch the album with a show at Corsica Studios on June 19th.

"stomping percussion and layered harmonies, weaving in and out of joyously ramshackle at times and mournful at others" THE LINE OF BEST FIT

Brewing up an emotive brand of lo-fi House from his home studio in darkest Epping Forest, the production protégé releases his debut long player on 17th July through independent label Sunday Best.
